Non-floral wedding centerpieces?

Please help...Im thinkin' gold fish???

Non-floral wedding centerpieces?
I would stay away from using the goldfish as the centerpieces. What are you going to do with them when the wedding is over?

If you want to do non-floral centerpieces I would go with the floating candles. You can check out this website. They have a lot of good ideas for floating candles centerpieces...you can also buy the kits from them, but they are a little pricey and you can probably do most of it yourself.

Reply:I'd avoid goldfish as I really feel it is cruel to a living creature to use them as decor. A lot of the time the stress of being shoved into a new, and quite a strange, environment will stress the fish. It doesn't take a lot of stress to make a goldfish kick off either, and it really isn't pretty having little fishies belly-up in your centre pieces!

A friend of mine is having several small and beautiful cakes made up in place of a traditional tired wedding cake, and setting one on each table. They'll act as an edible centerpiece. I think it's a cute idea, plus it kills two birds with one stone!

Best of luck!
Reply:Floating candles in decorative bowls or vases. Those mini water falls that people often use on end tables. Those Japanese rock/sand gardens. Paper lanterns. Fruit bowl centerpieces with peaches, cherries, or apples. Decorated wooden birch houses which could be painted the same theme colours of the wedding. Herb garden center pieces are becoming very popular and are a useful for members of the wedding party to take home. I hope you find what you are looking for.
Reply:i went to a wedding and the fish water smelled so bad and some of the fish died by the end of the party . If you do that do some research i do not know why the fish died old age , shock or colored rocks you got me. Every body still calls it the wedding with the smelly fish. Just do your research. MY FH has a son and he was so mad when someone gave his son a fish ( pet ) with out consulting him because my FH had no container no food and had an extra job then the fish died two months later. I think your idea is fun just do research.
Reply:What about beta fish in a glass bowl with colored glass that goes with you color scheme.

Mirrors with rock salt and a candle in the center.

Ivy plant, it's not floral!

Pictures of you and you fiance, when you were younger and while you were dating.

Places you have visited, New York, Hawaii, etc. each table could represent a place.

Hope this helps!
Reply:ooh you could always do one of those edible arrangements things, but I think thats pretty expensive. They are really pretty though.

maybe origami or seashells or candles, like 3 different tiers of candle.

or what about small potted plants like baby trees that guests could take home with them?

hmmmmm.....

really pretty fish would be cool too.

Best of luck!!

Reply:Candles, mirrors, rose petals (fake ones if need be), bowls of colored marbles to match your colors.

DONT use fish. They will end up dying because no one will take care of them. That is animal cruelty in my book.
Reply:a vase full of lemons, oranges, limes, things like that. or marbles, pictures of the bride and groom throughout their relationship, love letters in pictures....
Reply:Candles

Maybe like a mirror in the center with different sized candles on top
Reply:no goldfish. they will die from the noise. try candles or little nicknacks that go with the theme.
